Founder-led, from first call to final document.
Lexaero is a legal and technology consultancy based in The Hague. Its founder scopes every engagement, does the work and answers for it.
Founder
Ali Fouad
Founder · Legal and technology consultant
Ali's work sits where law, data and technology meet. He has served as legal and data-protection adviser to a group with entities in several countries. There he designed a data-protection framework that runs under several national regimes at once, reviewed the group's information security against its sector regulation, wrote the AI policy its board adopted, and built the internal assistant its teams use for compliance questions.
He builds the tools himself. A framework that depends on staff reading a sixty-page policy tends to go unused, so the work usually ends in something people can operate: a register, a calendar, a procedure, or software.
He holds a bachelor's degree in International and European Law from The Hague University of Applied Sciences. During it he spent an exchange semester at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, taking courses in French law, English law and international law at bachelor's and master's level, taught in French and English.
Experience
Described in general terms, as client confidentiality requires.
Built, delivered and in daily use
The founder's principal work to date has been for a group in a regulated sector, with companies in several countries. It spans all four of Lexaero's service areas.
Operations
A data-protection framework that runs under several national regimes at once. An information-security gap review against the group's sector regulation. A board-adopted AI policy, and the internal assistant its teams use for compliance questions.
Transactions
Commercial agreements governed by a law other than the client's home law, and the data-processing and transfer terms between the group's entities and its suppliers.
Business development
Trade mark clearance and filing preparation across several registers. Business planning, competitor analysis and pricing work.
Funding
Funding advice: mapping public programmes against what the group is building, and planning the route to them.
Where an engagement would be Lexaero's first in a sector or a country, the proposal says so and names the local firm or specialist involved. A reference is available on request, with the client's consent.
Method
Map before drafting
Entities, contracts, data flows and regulators are mapped first, so every document that follows answers to a known obligation.
Build to the stricter rule
Where two legal systems differ on a point, the work meets the stricter one, and one set of documents serves both.
Make it operate
A framework is finished when staff use it. That can mean a policy, a register, a calendar or a tool.
Status
What Lexaero is, stated exactly
What it is
A legal and technology consultancy, registered in the Netherlands as a sole proprietorship. It advises, drafts, reviews and builds, and it acts as authorised representative where a company appoints it. Its work is done under a written engagement governed by Dutch law.
A company that works in more than one country rarely has a question that belongs to one law, or to law alone. A customer's data questionnaire is also a question about the systems the company runs; a filing calendar is also a workflow; a new regime is a set of controls as much as a set of rules. Lexaero is built for that: one adviser scopes the matter, knows the systems the company actually uses, and delivers the answer as something the company can implement, across every border it works over. The same person does the work and answers for it, at a fee fixed before it starts.
It works for companies wherever they operate: in the European Union, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and beyond. Its field is the cross-border matter itself: which rules apply when a company works in more than one country, how those regimes fit together, and what the company must do in each place.
What it is not
Lexaero is not a law firm, and Ali Fouad is not an advocaat or a civil-law notary. Lexaero does not represent clients in court and does not execute notarial deeds. Where a country reserves advice on its national law, or the drafting of documents under it, to lawyers admitted there, that part of a matter is done by a locally admitted lawyer whom the client engages, with Lexaero keeping the whole in one hand.
Client information is kept confidential by contract. It is not covered by the legal professional privilege that attaches to a lawyer admitted to the bar.
